This detector is suitable for most infra-red remote controls. It filters and demodulates the incoming signal and allows for direct connection to a micro-controller’s I/O pin.

It’s internal band-pass filter is set to 38kHz and will easily accommodate popular transmitters using 36-40kHz such as Sharp, Sony, Phillips, RC5/RC6 and many more.

This device is suitable for use with the Raspberry-Pi.
